Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the issue of the possibilities of human salvation outside Christianity and to show the importance of theology of religion in the understanding of this question. The first part of the paper contains an explanation of the term theology of religion as a theological discipline. The author stresses its uniqueness consisting in regarding one's own religious doctrine as authentic and making considerations of other religions' credibility in its light. Next the fact of the existence of three main positions in the relation of Christianity to other religions is shown. These are: exclusivism, inclusivism and pluralism. There are analyzed differences between them all, too. The second part presents the general term of religion. A relation of religion to salvation is shown as well as an explanation of the theological term of religion (with a brief presentation of a few attitudes towards it). Furthermore, the author explains also the problem of a religion’s structure and reveals the important role of a religious experience, which is directly connected with an individual's human's relation to God. The last part of the article shows the relation of other religions to the Person of Christ as a Saviour. His intercession possesses the only and universal nature, but it does not exclude a human’s cooperation, on the contrary – it inspires different individual's cooperation derived from a participation in one source. If, then, other religions have its source in revelation, so they have a salvific value for their believers, too. Despite this fact there are still a lot of discussions on this subject.
