Summary/Abstract: Railroad law until today has not been distinguished in an independent comprehensive branch of law. It is most often classified as a law department of communication or transport law as well as the public economic law. However, in view of the considerable amount of the continuous adjustment and introduction of the new provisions into the legal system, conducting a comprehensive differentation of railway law is becoming necessary. Using for this purpose the three basic methods of regulating social relations: legal-civil, legal-administrative and legal-disciplinary will let railroad legal norms, distributed across different departments of the law system, systemize in one set of the comprehensive branch of the rail law. So ordered and classified law will have practical and educational value enabling to broaden the knowledge in the field of legal aspects of the operation of the rail transport in Poland.
