Donbass evacuees in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The article looks at the Ukrainian citizens of Polish descent that have arrived in Poland from eastern Ukraine in the aftermath of the war in Donbass. The article is based on the research conducted by the author among the evacuees and the staff of the institutions participating in the evacuation. The first section introduces legal framework of the evacuation and stay in Poland. In the second section, the author covers socio‑demographic characteristics of the evacuees and prospects for their adaptation. In conclusion, the issue of evacuees is discussed in light of the Polish immigration strategy.
