Stakeholders of the spatial decision-making process on a local level. Theory and practice

Summary/Abstract: Spatial decision-making process at the local level is carried out by the municipal authorities and citizens can join this process at various stages. This paper seeks to answer the question, how the theoretical principles of the spatial planning system are implemented in practice. A pilot survey of selected municipalities of Lower Silesia, including interviews with representatives of local government is used to define the main groups of actors involved in local spatial politics and to indicate significant differences between the theory and practice of planning on a local level.
