Directions of development of green infrastructure in the Wrocław functional area

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the idea of green infrastructure as creation of natural landscapes instead of engineering constructions. On the basis of foreign experience, the authors proposed directions of green infrastructure development and gave examples of concrete actions on the Wrocław functional area (WrFA). The need to develop all municipalities and counties included in the WrFA common plan of development/management of green infrastructure were justified. Designated directions of development of green infrastructure will enable a significant improvement of competitiveness of municipalities and counties participating in the WrFA in accordance with the sustainable development principle.
