Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the major trends in scholarship about linguistic onomastic processes of construing names, the semantic standing of proper names, and the probable consequences names have on readers. The objective of this paper is to emphasize the relevance and potential of literary onomastics, the employment and role of names in literary works, and naming aspects that are instrumental in the intricacy and appeal of the fiction. Although researchers have discovered some important findings regarding the operational function that names have within literature, the symbolic weight of names, and the cognitive features of the roles that proper names serve, there is still a great deal that is unknown and that requires further empirical inquiry.
