Summary/Abstract: The exchange of letters between Dionizy Zaleski and the Director of the Jagiellonian Library as well as the notes of Jan Szymański constitute the documentation of all the arrangements concerning the process of handing over Józef Bohdan Zaleski’s papers to the Jagiellonian Library. These letters are a contribution to the history of the growth of the manuscript collection of the Jagiellonian Library during the interwar period. They show, also from the technical point of view, how the donation sent from Paris eventually found itself in Cracow. They also illustrate the policy of acquiring items followed by the subsequent directors of the Library, i.e. Fryderyk Pappée, Edward Kuntze, Władysław Pociecha, and Aleksander Birkenmajer.
