Polish Prints and Sixteenth-Century Polonica in the Slovak National Library in Martin. A Catalgue

Summary/Abstract: The catalogue of Polish sixteenth-century prints kept in the Slovak National Library in Martin (Slovenská Národná Knižnica, SNK) contains the descriptions of about sixty early printed books, which, according to the criteria established by Karol Estreicher, are Polonica in the broad sense. All of these descriptions were completed on the spot, with the aid of available card, printed and digital catalogues, during two journeys which were part of an interlibrary exchange of staff members between the Jagiellonian Library and SNK. The descriptions of the prints are as detailed and complete as possible; they also include provenances and bindings. A dozen or so provenances have been either read anew or in a slightly different manner.
