Personal Protective Equipment - Barrier against Risk at Work

Summary/Abstract: The theme of fifth bulletin is a problem of personal protective equipment as a tool to ensure a barrier against risk at work. One of the ways to ensure the safety and health of employees is use of personal protective equipment. The Content of the present information is an overview of the current state regulations relating to the protection of employees through a system of PPE in Slovakia and the EU, an overview of the current types of personal protective equipment and their systematic breakdown in terms of the importance and their protective functions and finally an overview of current practices and procedures for the assessment of the protective effect of personal protective equipment used in the current system for assessing conformity of products with regulatory requirements. At the end is a short guide for employers to assess the protective properties of the selected PPE in the company.
