Summary/Abstract: Gender equality is essential for development in general, and the relationship between gender and poverty has made the importance of integrating gender aspects into development cooperation more important than ever before. There are three main reasons for the implementation of gender equality in development cooperation between the European Union : • disproportionate majority of the world’s poor are women, in some cases, have not only access to important economic and social resources, but they are denied their human rights as an individual; • Investments in improving the status of women (providing education, improving health and ensuring their rights to land and labor) result in higher levels of productivity and lower levels of infant mortality and women , food insecurity and poverty; • The European Union has a long-term commitment to promoting gender equality and has played an active role at international conferences on women’s rights advocate, let’s say at the Fourth Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995. Now is the time to prioritize positive actions and integrating gender equality into every level of development cooperation. The European Union has a number of policies, guidelines and declarations that explicitly call for the inclusion of gender equality in development cooperation, which is especially noticed in the Partnership Agreement with the European Union in developing countries. Gender equality is taking place around three main axes : 1 ) Analysis of the inclusion of gender equality within the priority areas identified by the development policy of the European Union: supporting macroeconomic policies and strategies for poverty reduction and social development programs in health and education, safe food and sustainable rural development , transport, institutional capacity building, good governance and the rule of law, trade and development and regional integration and cooperation . Gender equality is a topic that concerns all of these six areas. 2 ) Strengthen the integration of gender equality countries in the region. The primary responsibility for strengthening gender equality at national governments and the Commission of the European Union should play a key role in supporting the priorities and initiatives of governments and civil society partner countries in their efforts to gender equality is integrated. They give suggestions to integrate gender equality in the current EU policy dialogue with the government and civil society and Member States and partner countries are encouraged to build partnerships and facilitate the exchange of information and pooling resources with other international partners and organizations. 3 ) Building the capacity of gender equality, which, as an incremental process, emphasize the capacity of the EU to effectively integrate gender equality:
