Summary/Abstract: The article considers problems related to parents’ migration in order to find a job in Western Europe and in the USA, and its influence on children’s education in family. It analyses the follow- ing issues: relations between parents – children, advantages and disadvantages of parents’ absence at home. The author presents the main findings of his empirical research taken place in Podhale region. It was attempted to ask parents who remain at home about their opinion whether hus- band/wife’s absence has any influence on children’s education in family. The questionnaire was delivered in 2004/2005. It emerged that the adults did not perceived working abroad as a main nega- tive aspect of their family life. However, it was found that for many parents it is difficult to educate their children while husband/wife living abroad because of work.
