Summary/Abstract: The problem of Ukraine’s regional policy modernization in the conditions of globalization processes activation is studied in the present paper. The influence of global factors and changes in the EU regional policy on the transformation of regional policy in Ukraine is determined. In the context of the development of Ukraine’s regional policy the problems are defined with respect to economic development and welfare of the citizens in the regions of Ukraine; also the areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU are outlined.
