Summary/Abstract: It may appear as a kind of coquetry if the operator of an online portal like the “Central and Eastern European Online Library” suddenly starts to speak about the need of some conservative mind in the digital age. So it might be useful first to explain what I consider as a conservative approach to working in this realm of digitized information: Modifying the famous thesis of Walter Benjamin, the basic question which really matters is about “The Information in the Age of its Technological Reproducibility”. So I would like to define as “conservative” in this context any approach to the usage of information, which is distinguished by constantly exposing ourselves to the reflection of Benjamin’s question.
