Determinants of quality of work life

Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the evolution of the concept of quality of work life (QWL). According to its original assumptions, QWL has been discussed as a method of investigating the impact of work on an employee, specifically their general well-being and quality of experiences at a workplace. Also, from an organizational perspective, it has been evaluated which characteristics of work environment allow employees to use their full potential and enable them to achieve better results. As results of international studies indicate, some aspects of work have a significant impact on productivity and the pattern of behaviors at work. These results were supported by the analysis of a brief survey conducted by the author. On the grounds of that, it was possible to distinguish the factors which have the greatest impact on the level of QWL in the workplace context in Poland.
