Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the problems of management staff development in the Russian organizations. Lack of the effective managers for the innovation economy is a serious obstacle for the sustainable development of the country. The article reflects the author’s position concerning the ways of overcoming this problem. The author offers its own interpretation of the modern succession management system created for the purpose of management staff reproduction.
