Philosophy And Worldview Implications Of The Ecological Crisis

Summary/Abstract: The article shows a most important threat of natural environment caused by the eco-nomical activity of the mankind. It describes the problem of “ecological crisis” by showing its main material symptoms. The author introduces certain thoughts connected with the history of philosophy and philosophical views, which can be admitted as the premises of the modern style and method of the development of civilization. In the final part of the article there are other historical and philosophical facts connected with the origin and development of scientific and technological revolution, which diametri-cally changes the style of life and the relation of man to nature. The author claims that there is a necessity of (1) a reference to humanistic knowledge where the protection of the environment is considered, and (2) the exchange of the ethics of pleasure into the ethics of responsibility.
