Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyse the phenomenon of educationalisation of social life from a socio-educational perspective, the point of reference for this being the approach and method of Michel Foucault, especially the genealogy method and the issue of problematisation. Foucault's research methods constitute inspiration for further analysis. It is against this background that the tides of the phenomenon of educationalisation of social life are discussed. It is assumed that as a result of macrostructural processes (modernisation, globalisation and the democratisation of education) the development of this phenomenon displays discontinuity and disruption. However, there are certain reoccurring components that can be seen in this process.
