Participatory management in local communities

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, the participation of citizens in public life plays an increasingly important role in the management at the local level. Social participation, yet often associated only with the participation of citizens in local elections began to successfully transform into active, efficient and multi-effects. Local communities are increasingly aware of the fact that local development depends on their active participation in public life, based on multi-level and multi-sectoral cooperation. The aim of this paper is to present forms of public participation, which in Poland found their application and evaluation of their use at the local level.
