Summary/Abstract: The authors of this paper will present the efforts made by the University of Sarajevo on implementation of Tempus project „Developing information literacy for lifelong learning and knowledge economy in Western Balkan countries“, coordinated by Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT), Republic of Ireland. Since the beginning of the Project in 2011, significant steps forward have made at the University of Sarajevo regarding support to information literacy development, lifelong learning, increasing libraries' capacities and its connection, which all contribute to improvement of quality study and knowledge transfer to the end user. University of Sarajevo has recognized the importance of this Project that means the implementation of European model of information literacy module. It enables that the Higher Education in segment of information literacy will approach the norms existed in European universities, and thus establish the Higher Education Area and its promotion in the world. Establishing the information literacy network in Western Balkan countries will be provided during the last phase of the Tempus project. It will enable online access to all contents related to the Project.
