Summary/Abstract: The article presents and comments (based on material coming from Polish language dictionaries of Old Polish time, the 16th as well as 19th and 20th century, and also Old Slavonic background) on semantic transformation, in which the word forasmuch as underwent in its history: from independent word - adverb of meaning 'quick, fast' to the role of functional word - a conjunction 'when, as' that introduces a time subordinate clause or 'if, because' that introduces a condition or cause subordibate clause. The categorial transformation of the 'forasmuch as' word becomes a basis to explain a vivacity of derivatives from this word and declining the meaning shifts in them. Diversity in the space of centuries in derivatives' attendance and semantics with component 'forasmuch as' is connected with external history of Polish language (main Eastern Slavic influances).
