Summary/Abstract: One of the main purposes of new communist governments in Poland was the secularization of a society. To achieve that, authorities were fighting a church building, what was the reason of quarrels between the communistic country and the church. The politic of communistic authorities, grappling with the church building construction on Silesia in the years 1970-1980 was well elaborated. The biggest conflicts took place in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Tychy and the Millenium Housing Estate in Katowice. The politic governments activities were blocking the building of new churches, controlling licenses and prolonging the essential formalities transaction. That was the way to move towards a rebuilding and secularization of the public space.
