Multiculturalism in Evangelical print as form of education of the reader

Summary/Abstract: The author discusses the way how multicultural issues are being treated in religious and confessional periodicals emphasizing the educational function of respective media and issues under research. The magazine Cirkevne listy (Church Letters) which is published monthly as a magazine of Lutherans has been the subject of the research. This paper reflects on thematic focuses of selected phenomena with multicultural dimension. The research concludes that Cirkevne listy, as a traditional and the oldest still published Lutheran periodical with specialized and popular character, has the ability to treat topical social issues and challenges on good professional level. At the same time it uses a form that has the potential to educate and inform the reader.
