Summary/Abstract: After collapse of Soviet Union appears new opportunities for political activation of ethnic minorities. Ethnicity has become indicator of political identity. Numerous ethnic organization has sprang up. One of exemplification of those is Milli Firqua, organization of Crimean Tatars. In twenty nineties lot of Tatars had come back to theirs home from deportation in Central Asia, but political situation of Crimean Peninsula has completely different. Old Tatars house and terrain now are inhabited by Russians and Ukrainians. Power on Crimea belong to Slavic ethnic group (today Crimea is a part of Ukraine, so central authorities are located in Kiev, but Crimea is also autonomic region were regional authorities are mostly in Russian hand). Milli Firqua demanding accessibility to power for Crimean Tatar and also restore of former Tatar property. Milli Firqua's possibilities for real participation in power are very limited. So mostly political activity of party are located in policy of performance (like happening, protest, political ceremonies) and symbolic policy. Further development of Milli Firqua depends of chance for convince of Crimean ethnic minorities. Milli Firqua is opposite organization for main Tatar political body - Mehlis of Crimean Tatar Nation. Its hard to tell about further role of Milli Firqua in Crimea political system. This text was written before the annexation of Crimea by Russia.
