Summary/Abstract: The faunal material analysed was gathered from the 4th AD century level, during the archaeological researches that took place in Răcari site in the years 2008 and 2009. The sample consists of 2880 faunal remains, of garbage origin, coming from fish, bird and mammals. The paper presents archaeozoologic and archaeogenetics data. The identified domestic mammals are: cattle (Bos taurus), sheep (Ovis aries), goat (Capra hircus), pig (Sus domesticus), horse (Equus caballus) and dog (Canis familiaris). The identified wild mammal species are: red deer (Cervus elaphus), wild boar (Sus scrofa), roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), bear (Ursus arctos), badger (Meles meles) and hare (Lepus europaeus). From Răcari there was analysed also a faunal sample gathered in 2003.
