Summary/Abstract: In the text described „Balkan” First world war, combined with the policy of the great powers of Europe. Emphasize the Bulgarian-Serbian political antagonism caused by the question of Macedonian lands, primarily the Bulgarian position. It is shown that Sofia was seen in Russia culprit of their unfulfilled hopes to create a „greater Bulgaria”. Attraction as a source of memoirs of a Russian diplomat Basil Strandman enabled to add to the complex picture of the diplomatic and political actions, have been active participants in the „global game” called the First world war.
