Summary/Abstract: Despite the generally recognised principle of the primacy of EU law over national law, one of the key disputed issues is the relationship of the constitutional law to EU law. This adds an additional authority to the constitutional courts, which play an important role in the political and the legal system of each democratic state as guardians of the legal order and the supremacy of the Constitution and principles contained therein. The European integration makes that we face the problem of interpenetration of two legal systems and hence the need for settling disputes that arise. In this regard, the jurisdiction of the Polish Constitutional Court shapes the perception of the European integration from the Polish point of view.
