Znaczenie i wysokość środków pochodzących z budżetu Unii Europejskiej jako kategorii środków publicznych
Significance and amount of funds from the budget of the European Union as a category of public resources

Summary/Abstract: The author of the study explains the notion of funds from the budget of the European Union and presents in tabular form transfers of funds between Poland and the EU. Moreover the author presents the relations between the state budget and the budget of the European funds as well as the amount of revenues and expenses included in the budget of European funds in the budget acts of Poland in the years 2010-2014. The aim of this paper is to show the significance of the above-mentioned categories in a pool of public funds, based on an analysis of current legislative texts and documents published by the Ministry of Finance, and moreover, with reference to the doctrine. In the conclusions, the author indicates the crucial importance of the EU budget for the sustainable growth of the economy of Poland. The author also points out the requirement for a responsible, conscious and rational exploitation of the benefits of institutions relevant to the issues analyzed.
