Modification of radar plot

Summary/Abstract: Radar plot is one of the most popular graphs used to illustrate the multidimen-sional data. It is used in various scientific disciplines. Axes emerging from the centre of the graph for coordinates with agles between consecutive ones equal 3600/number of varia-bles.Variables are normalized to unit interval and for given objects its values define points on axes. While joining them we get the radar plot. The following modifications are proposed in the paper: − Finding the best ordering of variables (their assigment to axis). − Making angles between axes proportional to distances calculated through the correlation analysis. Some optimization algorithms are discussed in the paper. An empirical example used here concers EU countries data on smart development.
