Summary/Abstract: The paper is a report from the research referring to the theoretical assumptions of the international GLOBE (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness) program. The investigated persons were Germans and foreigners who were employed in Germany for a long time. The main interrogative question was formed as follows: 1. Do people existing in a given culture adopt the prototype of an effective leader from that culture and is it different from the prototype present in the person’s country of origin? 2. What are the differences, if any, between the perception of a perfect Polish and German leader? The research has confirmed the basic assumptions of the GLOBE program. Apart from differences, many similarities were found in the perception of an outstanding leader regardless of the cultural origins of a person. That testifies to the universality of some features and behaviours. The representatives of most cultures rated a German leader higher than leaders from their own countries. In comparison to previous research more similarities were pointed between Polish and German leaders.
