Musical form as a revelation

Summary/Abstract: Energy relationship between two principles is realized through the principle of synergy in the musical form either. The immanent character of high music always has a sense of the heavenly, of searching for the better, striving for the holy and sanctifying, but the wanted fullness of life can be obtained only from above. For this reason a music piece al­ ways unfolds as an ontological dialogue. This is the essence of development. It is this dialogue that organizes a musical form. In the study, it is explored on the example of sonata form. The logic of spiritual energy transformations, which the performer has to experience and get across to the audiences are presented in a diagram. This diagram shows the coordinate system in which the two axes represent respectively: No. 1 axis (x-ax­ is) - the divine, and No. 2 axis (y-axis) - mankind and humanity. In contrast to the horizontal semiotics, acting through semantic references to prototypes of life, the ontological vertical semiotics refers to the heavenly beauty, and this is its implementation in action and transformation. Thus the sonata form is presented as a movement from ‘our’ human, earthly power to the ‘non-our’ -the divine, heavenly, picking up from above. Music is the sole art connecting the soul directly with the divine essence of being. That is why the energy logic of life that has crystallized in sonata form, is expressed in it so clearly and brightly.
