Dissertation in the process of higher education – a critical review of methodical studies

Summary/Abstract: In this article it is discussed the shape of the dissertation in higher education. The authors try to answer the question about the differences between the BA thesis and MA thesis. The criteria of the analysis are as follows: • Theses place during the higher education, • The types and functions of the thesis, • Assessment of thesis. An important point of discussion is the distinction of meaning between the scientfic work and the work of a scientific nature. In the summary of the article it is proposed method of differentiating the BA thesis and MA thesis.
