Modeling the energy market using modern forecasting methods

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the issues of modeling and optimization of the energy market using forecasting methods based on the tools in the field of artificial intelligence. The described issues are associated with the use of optimization methods acting on the basis of Darwin’s evolution, such as genetic algorithms. The study aims at examining the possibility of extension of classical genetic algorithms with elements based on other methods of optimization. To this end, hybrid models are discussed, e.g. models built on the cooperation of genetic algorithms with artificial neural networks.
