NCCD Decision regarding the publishing of an anti-Semitic article

Summary/Abstract: The questioner: Hebrew Communities Federation of Romania, Jews Association Victims of the Holocaust and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Applicant: newspaper "National Journal", author Marian Nazat Subject: Discrimination established by publication in a newspaper article "cry of despair". The College of Directors notes that inside the article there are quotes from works written in the years 1945-1948, of both writers Alice Voinescu and Mihail Sebastian (writer of Hebrew origin). The College of Directors notes that Article "cry of despair", in its entirety, doesn’t cross the limit of the freedom of expression, meeting the dispositions of art. 2 para. (8) O.G. no. 137/2000. With six votes for and two votes against the majority opinion of the members present at the meeting, The College of Directors decides: The facts presented are not acts of discrimination, according to OG no.137 / 2000 on preventing and sanctioning all forms of discrimination, republished.
