Summary/Abstract: 19th century is a period in which the tradition of classical Ottoman poetry collapsed by losing importance and began to give way to a new literature. The poets that grew such a literary environment, on the one hand, went to the path of the master poets lived in the 17th and 18th century; on the other hand they distanced from the tradition of poetry by inspiring social and political situation of that era. In this study, we will seek to demonstrate which literary tradition the poet belongs to by trying to stay on the life of Kasabalı Mehmed Nûrî Efendi, lived between the second half of the 19th century and first years of the 20th century, and his poems.
