Summary/Abstract: The author of the article discusses prof. Bohdan Dziemidok’s book titled ‘Comedy’. He indicates professor’s philosophical and scientific competences, as well as the advantages of literary and cognitive work itself. He stresses that the philosopher combines the unique historical knowledge with high level of theoretical considerations on the comedy and subtle analysis. These advantages the author combines with the inherent prof. B. Dziemidok’s personal sense of irony and self-irony. This work is presented as outstanding, significantly enriching not only Polish but also European literature.
