Summary/Abstract: The public pharmacy as the market entity providing especially pharmaceutical services has a peculiar character. According to legislative regulations it is obliged to perform the mission as part of social systems of the health care and at the same time is an entity accomplishing commercial purposes. The dualism of tasks causes that functioning of these institutions, in particular their marketing activity, is subject to special regulations and regulations in the ethical code. According to Corporate Social Responsibility concept, typically material aspirations of pharmacies owners in the area maximization of profit are not the only ones within the hierarchy of individual needs. The pyramid of the Corporate Social Responsibility shows four groups of the category, that play an important role: economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic responsibility
