Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to characterize entrepreneurship in Poland through the prism of the dynamics of economic processes, mapped in such parameters as revenue, investment expenditures and financial performance. The period of study covers the years 2004-2008, from the Polish accession to the EU until the year, when the effects of global economic crisis were felt. In addition to compare the situation of enterprises the examples of performance indicators were used. The article indicates the weaknesses of Polish economy in the scope of businesses, focusing on barriers in the areas of finance and innovation.
