Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the present article is to introduce unpublished data in the scientific circuit concerning the activity of jewelry, watchmaking and ironmongery workshops in Bessarabia between the fifth and the eight decades of the 19th century. We should give special credit to the silverware workshop founded in Chisinău between 1854 and1858 reuniting ten silversmiths, goldsmiths and watchmakers, as well as to the workshop in Orhei, famous due to the buckles in the collection of the National Museum of the History of Moldova. And last but not least, we should mention the activity of artisans of Soroca (three silversmiths and goldsmiths, nine blacksmiths, five tinsmiths, three watchmakers). This information extends substantially the data referring to the evolution of metal art in Bessarabia during the 19th century.
