Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to compare the missions and strategies of leading Polish universities and assess their adequacy to the development and implementation of Balanced Scorecard. By characterizing BSC construction schemes in higher education institutions, the author analyses missions and strategies of leading Polish universities for the adequacy of the design and implementation of the BSC base on D. Ruben’s model.
