Summary/Abstract: The Saint Ioan Casian - Protector of the True Faith -General Aspects-. Among the outstanding monks of Scythia Minor (the nowadays Dobrogea) from the primary Christian period, an important representative is the Saint Ioan Casian (c.360-435). His works present him to us as a person with high moral and intellectual background, an equilibrate monk and an important theologian. By presenting some of the paragraphs of the Saint Ioan Casian’s work entitled Of the Lord’s Embodiment, against Nestorie, we can observe that the above mentioned author was considered not only a great theologian of his time, as the archdeacon Leon, the future pope Leon the Great, stated, who claimed for this work, but also from the way of conceiving and elaborating that book.
