Information Science from the Perspective of New Challenges in Education

Summary/Abstract: There have been presented the basic fields of study related to information science with the focus placed on new aspects emerging from the development of information and communication technology. Information technology has been presented from the perspective of new challenges such as information literacy, shaping information competence, developing information culture, bringing up with information, education for information and ecology in information. There is an assumption that shaping information culture of an individual can be connected with shaping the pro-info-eco attitude of the individual and that education for information should include also the aspect of ecology in information
