Summary/Abstract: Ioan Lupaş was an emblematical character of Transylvanian historiography of the first half of the last century. At the same time he was the "Magister" of several generations of Transylvanian historians, his person manifesting the human spirit and the constant affection for all those who were in contact with him, in one form or another. The unpublished documents, now edited and printed for the first time, come from the Ioan Lupaş Fund, constituted and preserved in the Archive of Orthodox Metropolitan Library in Sibiu. The 12 letters sent by Maja Depner (Philippi after marriage) illustrate the undeniable relationship established between the "magister" and a young hope of Transylvanian Saxon historiography. Also Maja Depner has translated into the German language one of the basic works of the historian, in turn she was asking and receiving his advices and promptly support. The letters from the archive presented in diachronic order, most of them using the spelling and writing of the period, are conclusive as regards the interethnic relations existing in Transylvania at that time, passing over any ethnic and religious boundaries
