Summary/Abstract: The present study points out the military situation in Moravia, the zone of the city of Kroměříž on the territory of the Czechoslovakia towards the end of World War II (May 1945). It was there that the "Central Group" of the German Army war quartered, under the command of marshal Schröner, and consisting of 180.000 military staff, 2500 cannons, 350 tanks and 300 airplanes. Fortified German troops were surrounded by Fronts 2 and 4 of the Ukrainian Army. Together with the Ukrainian Front 2, commanded by marshal Malinovschi, there fought also the Romanian troops in Army 1 and Army 4. A certain role in the resistance in this area was played by the Czech partisan squads. The study describes in detail the implementation of the respective military operations.
