Summary/Abstract: This review attempts to synthesize the many points of view concerning contemporary American theater and audience engagement collected and curated by playwright Caridad Svich into the online salon Audience (R)Evolution. The articles, coming from theater practitioners mostly from the independent side of the spectrum, try to shed light on the debates about dwindling theater attendance, particular audience engagement strategies and the ways American theater copes with the new generations of spectators.
