Summary/Abstract: The theory regarding civil-military relations represents a main institutional component of security policies. In this theoretical framework, civil control, in other words, the subordination of military power to civil authority is an important component of liberal democracy together with civic pluralism, the protection of the rule of law, the independence of the judiciary system and the protection of minorities’ rights and fundamental freedoms.
