The use of the European Union aid funds for the development of entrepreneurship in the frame of Rural Development Program in 2007–2013

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of the EU aid funds for the development of entrepreneurship in rural areas, as part of the RDP 2007–2013. The thematic scope included the analysis of two measures: diversification into non-agricultural activities and the creation and development of micro-enterprises within different areas of activities and taking into consideration the type of beneficiary and the type of micro-enterprises. The territorial scope covered the whole country, divided into provinces. However, the time range varied from the beginning of implementation of the analyzed measures, which was from 2008 until 2014. Based on the analysis of statistical data, it was found that the proper use of EU funds had a significant contribution to the multifunctional development of rural areas.
