Summary/Abstract: The romantic story of Sony Labou Tansi is marked by a discourse that gives prominence to the exercise of power, which can involve all kinds of persons, including women. The latter use their body advantages to substantively influence the nature and the challenge of this power in a social environment is subject to the laws of machismo, the so-called era of globalization. In La vie et demie (Life and a Half), this observation is more visible because of the portrayed characters story. In light of this novel, this paper aims to conduct a reading of the social status of women on the one hand, and the mechanisms implemented by the latter to assert themselves in the sensitive area of the other.
