Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of research on the development of the spatial layout of Spycimierz throughout the history. Geo-historical analysis included the issue of origin and morphological changes of the village, taking into account the history of settlement in the study area. In this context, selected documentary and descriptive sources and some historical maps were used. The results of research were confronted with the existing archaeological studies. The village was probably founded in the eleventh century near the fortified settlement in the form of ring, located in the bend of the river, which was transformed into a conical type in the fourteenth century. Several phases of rural development have been identified, taking into account the sequential formation and expansion of habitats and field systems from the Middle Ages up to the present. Contemporary Spycimierz takes the form of multi-road village with an irregular structure of housing and complicated arrangement of plots. This is a unique relic of settlement from the early feudal times, which is a valuable element of the cultural landscape of villages in central Poland.
