Summary/Abstract: This article explores an introduction about what the concept of mobility and migration is, analyzed in terms of globalization, the effects and causes created by it. I argue that migration and social integration are the major challenges of the XXI century and require a multidimensional approach to determine potential migration for socio-economic development in the country of origin and country of destination. A central argument is that contemporary migration, viewed from the perspective of globalization, is held under the auspices of international law and international organizations, that monitor and intervene in the processes of migration. In examining these, the age of globalization has accelerated the movement of people between countries. This development has been managed in various ways by states through more or less restrictive immigration policies. International migration is an essential part of today's globalized existence proving that our age of globalization is a global challenge but essentially regional in its impact.
