Summary/Abstract: Maksymilian Wroniszewski reviews Portrait of a Lady directed by Ewelina Marciniak (Teatr Wybrzeże, prem. 17 May 2015). The author praises the production for the bold rewriting of the original novel and the well-conceived decisions concerning the adaptation. Giving detailed descriptions of selected scenes from the performance, the author points out how the stage and costume design influence the meanings of the whole. Even though he considers Portrait of a Lady to be a success and a show that is excellent on almost every level, he also accuses the director of treating the subject superficially.
